About Us

In 1992, in Los Angeles, California, Jo-Liza Collection was founded by Liza Anson. She took the name from her mother’s old business which
started when she was 5 years old. Liza's mother started her vintage and antique shop at their 2-story home, with the bottom floor being their
showroom. Soon after, Jo-Liza Antique Shop grew as one of the biggest antique stores in Manila, Philippines. Her mother not only imported
furniture, but she also manufactured and exported all over the globe.

Jo-Liza Collection manufactured and imported Venetian style glass mirrors and furniture, hand hammered silver mirrors and accessories from
the Philippines until 2007. Life took a different route and Liza had to go back to the Philippines, continue to manufacture and export to
Europe and operate a retail business her mom had left behind.

In 2013, it was time to go back to the United States and start something fresh, sustainable and organic which paved the way to Jo-Liza
International. Liza discovered amazing manufacturers and artisans who were able to collaborate with her designs and ideas. She wants to
show the world the quality and ingenious craftsmanship of hand weavers from the Philippines.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought a lot of challenges to the business. However, she realized she has to continue with high-quality designs that
her customers would understand and appreciate. Jo-Liza International products have been mostly known for natural outdoor products made
from materials like sea grass, jute and rattan.

This year, in 2022, Liza is adding new collections from world-class manufacturers who have been pioneers in the furniture industry from the
Philippines. These new collections would include more contemporary indoor lines showing finely-crafted transitional pieces.

Being one who grew up in the Philippines, Liza is proud to say that the Philippines has some of the best artisans and products ever imagined.
The quality and craftsmanship is on par with the best in the world.

"I want to show the world the sustainable, high-quality design and unique aesthetic of the products. I want to be the voice that shows and
supports the local artisan communities in the Philippines.
